Privacy Policy — Memoria

Memoria is built on one principle: your journal is private. Your entries are stored on your device and never accessed, read, or shared by us.

1. Who We Are

2. Data We Access (On-Device Only)

All data accessed by Memoria is processed entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers — we have no servers that store your personal data.

📝 Journal Entries Stored locally on device. Optional iCloud sync uses your private iCloud account — we have no access.

❤️ Health Data Read-only via HealthKit (steps, heart rate, sleep). Never uploaded. Used to enrich journal entries.

📍 Location Approximate location (~1km) to tag entries when you choose. Precise location is never stored or shared.

🎤 Voice Transcribed on-device using Apple's Speech framework. Audio is deleted immediately after transcription.

📸 Photos Images you attach to entries. Stored locally. Synced to iCloud only if you enable iCloud sync.

🔒 Face ID / Touch ID Used only to lock and unlock entries. Biometric data never leaves your device.

3. What We Never Collect

✗ No personal identity No name, email, or phone number required to use the app.

✗ No tracking No advertising IDs, analytics SDKs, or behavioral tracking.

✗ No data selling We never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.

✗ No ads Memoria contains no advertising or third-party profiling.

4. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your entries are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. Data is end-to-end encrypted. We have no access to your iCloud data. You can disable sync at any time in Settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Apple CloudKit — optional iCloud sync. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple HealthKit — read-only health context. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple Speech Recognition — on-device transcription only.
No other third-party SDKs or services are used.

6. Your Rights

Export: Export all entries as JSON anytime from Settings.
Delete: Permanently delete any or all entries from within the app.
Revoke permissions: Revoke camera, microphone, location, or health access anytime in iOS Settings → Memoria.
GDPR / CCPA: If you are in the EU or California and have questions about your rights, contact us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

Memoria is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since all data stays on-device and no account is required, there is no personal data collection for users of any age.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the last-updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
